I’m going to be helping with the kids’ holiday at church this year and I think it’s going to be a whole lot of fun.

• We have been planning it for a couple of months now, and we have decided to have a bouncy house, along with pony rides and a lot of fun crafts for the kids.

The only issue that we might end up having is the heating situation in our family area. We have a great big family gym area where we do lots of events for families and children in our area. That’s one of the things that I really like about our church. They are big on outreach. Anyway, we are supposed to be having this event inside of the gym area but recently the heating system in the gym area stopped working. We’ve known that it’s been on the blink for a few days now, but we have not been able to get in touch with our local commercial HVAC company who does heating and cooling repairs for us. If we are not able to get an appointment with the commercial HVAC company, I don’t know what we are going to do about the event. We can’t exactly have a bunch of kids and their families inside the gym when there is no heating! It’s going to be really cold here this year around Christmas, and I just don’t think that we will be able to do it if our furnace is not working. I’m hoping that the commercial HVAC company gets back in touch with us in the next few days, or we are going to have to figure something else out.

My husband always wants to try and fix the furnace himself whenever it tears up.

Inevitably, it tears up at least once a year, so I guess he thinks he has become somewhat of an expert when it comes to piercing the thing back together.

However, it’s a really old furnace and it has a lot of issues. I think that he’s just trying to keep putting band aids on it to keep from having to purchase a new one. He is really cheap, and everyone who knows him knows it. He never wants to call a professional heating cooling provider to come out and fix the furnace when it goes on the blink. That’s not because he knows how to fix himself. It’s really only because he doesn’t want to have to pay a professional HVAC technician to fix it for him. I can appreciate the fact that he wants to try and save money and be a good steward of our finances, but I hate the fact that he is so cheap. Sometimes you just need to have an HVAC professional come to your house. I feel like the last time that our furnace tore up was one of these times. The problem was that the heating system was running all the time but the house wasn’t really getting much warmer. My husband took his tool box and went down to the basement to the furnace room and started tinkering around. By the time he was finished, the heating system wasn’t running at all and the house actually started getting colder by the minute!

The heating system at the school where my kids go has not been working for the past couple of weeks.

They have been trying to make do with space heaters in the classrooms, but, but that’s not really cutting it.

I don’t know what the issue is with the heating system, but they are supposed to be looking into it over winter break over the next couple of weeks. I personally feel like they should have canceled all of the classes since the heating system was not working in the building. The temperature around here gets really cold in the winter, and I don’t like the idea of my kids having to sit there and freeze during their lessons. That old school is very drafty and cold. It feels like the inside of a refrigerator sometimes when the weather is very cold. I don’t think that any kids should have to sit through cold classes like that, especially my kids! I was told by the school administrator that they were going to be working with the local commercial HVAC company to get the heating system up and running again while the kids are out for Christmas break. I really hope that he was not lying to me just to appease me, and I am definitely going to be checking in before my kids go back to school after the holidays. If the heating system still isn’t fixed by the time everyone else goes back to school, my kids might be taking an extended winter break whether the principal approves it or not!

I was having some trouble with my gas furnace a couple of weeks ago and I decided I was going to try and fix it myself.

It’s not that I know anything at all about the heating and cooling industry, but I really didn’t want to have to pay for a professional HVAC technician to come out to the house.

And this ended up being one of those instances where I really had to pay for being so cheap. No pun intended there, either! I don’t know what my problem is, but I always feel like I can handle a lot of things myself. Sometimes I can, but once in a while there is something that I should just not try to mess with. My heating and cooling system is one such thing. When it comes right down to it, I don’t know the first thing about heating and cooling systems. I might as well just go ahead and admit that to myself, and I don’t know why I thought any differently when it came to trying to fix my own gas furnace. I am lucky that I did not blow my house up. When the furnace started acting funny, I just started looking up different kinds of videos online and I thought I would be able to fix it myself. I was trying to save a little bit of money since it’s the holiday season, but saving money is not worth the safety of my home and my indoor air quality. After I messed around with it, I realized that the repair was way above my head and out of my league. I ended up calling the HVAC company anyway.

My husband and I bought a house down south a little over four years ago.

We were excited to move away from the snow and cold temperatures up north.

Our new house was affordable because it needed a great deal of work. Since my husband and I are both quite handy, we had no problem renovating the kitchen and bathrooms, installing new floors and windows, painting and landscaping. We worked on the house gradually and made everything just how we wanted it. For the first couple of years, we had no neighbors. There was a thick wall of vegetation along the border on each side of the house that provided privacy. The house to the right of us is owned by an older couple who are quiet and keep to themselves. The house on the left was vacant until just recently. Since the original owners were asking a very high price for a property in terrible condition, we never expected it to sell. However, a guy bought the place and immediately started cutting down the vegetation separating our properties. He removed every tree, shrub, vine and leaf on his side of the property line. Suddenly, we could clearly see his house and he could see ours. We lost our privacy. My husband and I weren’t happy. Our solution was to hire a fencing company. When the fencing contractor came by to provide an estimate, we told him that we wanted a fence tall, wide and solid enough to completely block all signs of the neighbor. The project was rather expensive but worthwhile. In a single day, an eight-foot high wooden fence was built.

I was enjoying an ad on cable TV the other afternoon as well as they were talking about the local mail delivery, and how our closest pizzeria is about 10 miles away, I was wondering if they had any local meal deliveries in my area.

• It seemed a little far-fetched for any pizza place to go so far out of their way just to deliver a meal to me.

I still reached out to the pizza place that was one of my fiance’s number ones, as well as asked if they had a local meal delivery for me. They got the supervisor on the cellphone as well as she asked where I lived. The lady asked when I wanted my meal delivery done? I explained to him what I wanted to get as well as that I would prefer to have it delivered by around 6 PM. I had a long afternoon at work that afternoon as well as I was not going to be able to get to the apartment as well as have a meal prepared for my fiance when she got to the apartment at 6 PM. The supervisor told myself and others she lives not a half a mile away from our house, as well as if I wanted to have a meal delivered from her pizza place, she would blissfully bring it to my home for myself and others for no charge. I placed an order for meal delivery that would serve us for at least two meals, just to be sure she was not going out of her way for nothing. I’m not sure if that pizza place does local meal delivery to my area, but the supervisor went out of her way to make sure that I had what I needed. She put a more up-to-date twist on going above as well as beyond the call of duty when it came to local meal delivery.

I am a babysitter for an 18 month old little girl who adores waffles for supper.

Whenever I ask him what she wants to eat she tells myself and others waffles.

I’m not sure if it is because she knows how to say waffles, or if she really just prefers them, but I’ve never had a complication getting him to eat waffles. Last week, I ran out of waffle mix. My fiance asked myself and others what I was going to do to get little Grayson to eat that afternoon. I was already prepared for that question. I had already looked online to see if I can order waffles online from one of our local pizzerias. Having a McDonald’s not a block away from our house, made this a simple question to answer. I called McDonald’s as well as asked if they could deliver waffles if I localed the order online. Not only did I not have to order waffles online, but they were willing to take my order over the telephone as well as deliver the food within several minutes, however grayson had her waffles that afternoon thanks to being able to order waffles online as well as over the telephone. I ended up with a very nice afternoon with him thanks to being able to order waffles as well as have them delivered. I’m just sad what’s going to happen when she learns another word other than waffles. It’s going to be kind of fun to figure out what to feed him for supper when her next word happens to be fried shrimp or hamburgers or some other food. At least I know that with a McDonald’s just around the corner, I’ll be able to order it online.

I’ve always been extremely afraid of the water. I never was able to learn to swim because I just didn’t want to be in the water at all. Then one day when my buddies wanted me to come out on a boat with them at the lake, I wasn’t sure if I could. They all managed to convince me that I would have fun even though that seemed impossible to me. Well, when we went out on the boat, I was very nervous. Fortunately, my buddies told me to relax in the air conditioning for awhile. I didn’t even know the boat had air conditioning, but sure enough in the cabin area the cooling system was working. It was a hot day so I was relieved. Also, there was surprisingly a lot of space in the cabin with a stove and everything. My buddies were out there fishing most of the time. I even came out to cast a rod myself a few times, but I had to go back into the cabin after a little bit. I had been drinking too, so I really didn’t want to stumble over the side and into the water, I would likely drown. I was wearing a life vest, but I still felt like I could drown, but my buddies all told me to just relax and take it easy. They said they promised I wouldn’t drown, they wouldn’t let that happen. Well, they caught enough fish for all of us and we expertly gutted the fish, cleaned them up and fried them on the stove. The food came out great and I realized I really did have fun, but it was all thanks to the climate control system on the boat.

I was very naive when I was a youngster.

I remember being mad that my parents insisted that I get full coverage insurance on my vehicle.

I thought I didn’t even need insurance or I could at least get the cheapest which is liability only. I felt like a big shot driving all around in my cars and hanging out with my buddies. Then one time, I was adjusting the temperature control settings in my car and I suddenly realized I was about to crash into an oncoming car when I looked back up. I suddenly swerved back to my lane but I overdid it and ended up flying off the road and hitting a pole. I was hurt pretty badly and rushed to the hospital in an ambulance. I kept asking if the other driver was okay when I woke up. I didn’t know if he had swerved like I had and I wanted to apologize to him. They said they would deliver my message, which they did. The guy even came to the hospital and wanted to know if I was okay. I apologized profusely and said how I shouldn’t have been adjusting the temperature control when driving, I should have just focused on the road. He said it was fine and he hoped that I would be alright too. Also, my insurance covered the replacement of my vehicle, but the cost of my insurance has gone up. I realize I wouldn’t even have a car to drive if I didn’t have the full coverage insurance, so I’m grateful my parents did that for me. I’m also impressed by the climate control system in my new car. It has a smart thermostat that is connected to Alexa, so I can give voice commands for temperature control adjustments.

I remember how crazy my roommates were back when we all first met.

Even though those guys were pretty wild, they grew on me. There was this one time when I thought I would never be friends with these guys again. It was the time when they wanted to borrow my electric fireplace. I loved to use the electric fireplace as a portable heater because it was easy to set up just about anywhere. It provided sufficient heating for me in my room and it was highly energy efficient. Well, one time I was going to visit with my family members and my roommate wanted to borrow my electric fireplace. I had no issue with that so I let him borrow it. I went on my trip and I had a fabulous time. Upon my return though back to the house, I was shocked when I learned that my electric fireplace was ruined. I learned that they all wanted to use it and they fought over it. It was so crazy hearing them all tell their side of the story, but they all agreed they were at fault for breaking my electric fireplace. They said they would get me a new one, but I was so pissed off. That meant I had to feel cold all the time for awhile. Well, they were true to their word. They all worked overtime hours until they had enough cash to buy me a new electric fireplace exactly like the one I had. As a matter of fact, I think it’s the same exact model which was pretty expensive I know because I bought it before. They all apologized again for the inconvenience and showed me they really cared. We remained friends after that, all of us.
