I was mentioning this before that if you take the chance you can live a life of fun and adventure along with many new experiences.

I was an engineer long ago, but I didn’t like what I was doing so instead of staying in it the rest of my life I just left.

I started skydiving in my free time and it showed me how much more to life there is than just getting by. I began doing stand up comedy to even further push my boundaries and I’ve had so much fun doing it. Take the chance, get the gig. I took the chance today and cleaned out my fireplace and air purifying system and low and behold I found a gold ring in the ashes. It was my late grandmother’s wedding ring and how it got in the fireplace I will never know. Imagine if I had an HVAC specialist clean the fireplace instead, I may have never seen the ring again. I took it in to a jeweler to get it appraised and they said it is worth about $10,000! So, I am using the money once I sell it to buy a new gas heater and get my air conditioner serviced by the local HVAC store near me. It’s funny what comes around the corner if you try new things. I was thinking of buying an oil heater, but with all of the problems we had with our old heater and its filters, it was better to go with a gas heater instead. We live and we learn.

I was once a painting contractor, and then a roofing contractor, and now I do stand up comedy. What a wide range of hats I have worn over the years. Some people just stay in their same job their whole life even if they don’t like it anymore. I think it’s fear that locks them into these lives of unhappiness but it doesn’t need to be that way. If you just trust and take the chance, good things can come to you and you will live a life full of adventure. I do not want to live a boring life. I don’t know much about air conditioners or electric heating but I took the chance and took an HVAC course and now I am able to make some money repairing a/c units in my town. I could have talked myself out of doing this but then I would be stuck at my old job doing something I didn’t have a passion for anymore. I like to install new heating units and clean air conditioning systems for people while showing them how to do it. It’s nice to share my knowledge with others so they can have some confidence in their ability to do it on their own if they don’t have the money. I work with the local HVAC company and we give each other help when necessary. It’s better to make friends with your competition because they usually end up helping you out in the long run. In fact, I gave them a few space heaters the other day for helping me install a commercial air conditioning system last week.

One of the drawbacks of living in a small beach village is we don’t have any fast food joints around.

• Maybe this is a good thing because of health reasons, but I would just love a nice McDonald’s or Burger King burger just once.

I can still remember vividly the taste of them and I know they still taste exactly the same now. Maybe I can make my own burger similar to theirs but why bother when I could just go buy one in the next city near me. I wonder if eating burgers is bad for you once a week? Anyways, today is the day for cleaning my heater and furnace and also removing all of the HEPA filters in my air conditioner and cleaning them. We like to stay on top of the maintenance of these units to assure that they will continue to operate efficiently for us. I taught my girlfriend how to clean our air purifier and HEPA filters so I don’t have to do it all of the time. She is quite good at these things and learns quickly once I show her how it’s done. We have a good residential HVAC company that has specials on cleaning the air conditioner and heater so we like to use them too sometimes. I think I will take her out for a burger at a fancy restaurant this weekend to celebrate us cleaning the filters this week. We may also go to the cooling and heating store down the block and look at some new heating units for next year.

It’s consistently a bit of a culture shock when I come home.

Most of my adult life has been spent overseas so it consistently takes a hour for myself and others to get used to being back in this country.

For sure, there is a immense difference both culturally & material wise. Most of the sites I’ve lived didn’t even have residential Heating & A/C. The countries I primarily spent time in are all developing economies that don’t have even the slightest measure of wealth that we experience. But coming home this time has been even more challenging because it looks love I’ll be home for a while. Normally, when I’m between assignments, I rent a locale for a the months I’m home! And even condo heating & cooling unit is better than none. But now, I’ve bought my first home! I obtained a small 2 home office home that came at a good price however needed a fantastic bit of work. The first thing that was done was the putting in new Heating & A/C equipment. This condo is older however absolutely well built. However the original ductwork was worthless. Instead of having the ductwork ripped out & substituted, the Heating & A/C professionals introduced myself and others to the ductless heat pump option. This is an Heating & A/C option that I have seen in other regions. The Heating & A/C technology makes it straight-forward for multiple building in those regions to immediately add heating & cooling. Plus, the ductless heat pumps are so incredible efficient as well. All I think is that my little condo is perfect when it comes to heating & cooling. The ductless heat pumps in my home produce the best quality heating & air that I could ever ask for.

Occasionally when I hear myself sounding exactly the way my old guy did, it makes me cringe. Well, I’ve been sounding that way for some time now about the Heating and A/C equipment. My family seems to think that heating and cooling is just constant and is as free as the air. Granted, heating and cooling has everything to do with air however it sure ain’t free. But this appears to mean nothing to anyone else in my family. Even my wifey is guilty of jacking the control unit all over the site and then forgetting about it. And I have gone on and on about the cost of Heating and A/C heating and cooling. And I have gone on and on about easing the load on the Heating and A/C equipment so it lasts. It’s like I’m talking to myself because all I hear are echos. Finally, I just stopped talking. All my requests fell on completely deaf ears. So what’s the point. Still, I wasn’t going to deal with the way the control unit was being abused. And there was no way that I was going to continue to spend and waste the currency every one of us were spending on Heating and A/C costs. So I called the Heating and A/C corporation. I figured that I wasn’t the only dad out there with this problem. Indeed, I wasn’t the only a single. The Heating and A/C professional proposed putting in a smart control unit. There is a way to lock pretty much everyone out however me. Before I hung up the cellphone, I made an appointment to have the smart control unit installed.

Then it sort of dawned on me as I was thinking about trying to find a quiet spot for myself. I like our family however there are times when I could use a moment to myself. I easily didn’t have our own space so I thought why not the garage. This led to a few weekends spent cleaning out & organizing the garage. Then, I called the Heating, Ventilation, & A/C company & they installed a ductless heat pump. This allows me to utilize the space in the garage for a place I can sort of tinker around. I have a workbench where I have some household project constantly in process. With the ductless heat pump, I can do our thing in the heat of summer time or when it’s cold outside. The ductless heat pump delivers plenty of quality heating & air.

My partner always wants to try and repair the oil furnace himself whenever it tears up.

• Inevitably, it tears up at least once a year, so I suppose he thinks he has become somewhat of an expert when it comes to piercing the thing back together! However, it’s a genuinely seasoned oil furnace and it has a lot of troubles.

I suppose that he isjust trying to keep putting band aids on it to keep from having to purchase a modern 1. He is genuinely cheap, and everyone who knows him knows it. He never wants to call a professional heating cooling provider to come out and repair the oil furnace when it goes on the blink. That’s not because he knows how to repair himself. It’s genuinely only because he doesn’t want to have to pay a professional Heating and A/C serviceman to repair it for him. I can like the fact that he wants to try and save money and be a fantastic steward of our finances, however I hate the fact that he is so cheap. Periodically you just need to have an Heating and A/C professional come to your house. I suppose care about the last time that our oil furnace tore up was 1 of these times. The problem was that the heating system was running all the time however the cabin wasn’t genuinely getting much warmer. My partner took his tool box and went down to the basement to the oil furnace room and started tinkering around. By the time he was finished, the heating system wasn’t running at all and the cabin easily started getting colder by the second!
