I was once a painting contractor, and then a roofing contractor, and now I do stand up comedy. What a wide range of hats I have worn over the years. Some people just stay in their same job their whole life even if they don’t like it anymore. I think it’s fear that locks them into these lives of unhappiness but it doesn’t need to be that way. If you just trust and take the chance, good things can come to you and you will live a life full of adventure. I do not want to live a boring life. I don’t know much about air conditioners or electric heating but I took the chance and took an HVAC course and now I am able to make some money repairing a/c units in my town. I could have talked myself out of doing this but then I would be stuck at my old job doing something I didn’t have a passion for anymore. I like to install new heating units and clean air conditioning systems for people while showing them how to do it. It’s nice to share my knowledge with others so they can have some confidence in their ability to do it on their own if they don’t have the money. I work with the local HVAC company and we give each other help when necessary. It’s better to make friends with your competition because they usually end up helping you out in the long run. In fact, I gave them a few space heaters the other day for helping me install a commercial air conditioning system last week.
