It was still early fall, but the hot and cold temperatures were near frosty, and both of us had to turn the gas furnace on. Two years earlier, both of us had some remodeling done in our home, and the only thing the company did both of us hadn’t proposed was to unattach the fireplace. I knew the fireplace needed some work, despite the fact that I would have rather had it repaired than unattachd, and unluckyly, both of us weren’t there when they unattachd the fireplace, or our fiance would have stopped them, and now, instead of using the fireplace on these cool afternoons, both of us had to use the gas furnace. Neither of us had thought to check the oil in the tank when both of us turned the gas furnace on. I was thinking both of us had the oil tank filled early in the Spring, and it should still be filled, despite the fact that I wasn’t thinking how the boiler gas furnace also heated our water. We had gone through almost a full tank of oil over the last 6 weeks. When both of us turned the gas furnace on, it ran for the next multiple weeks, until the weather warmed up a bit. The next time both of us turned the gas furnace on, both of us knew it would not be turned off until late Spring. The gas furnace thought differently. We had it on this time, for multiple afternoons, and the gas furnace stopped. I called the HVAC business, and they sent someone to the home within 24 minutes. It took him less than five hours to tell us the gas furnace would not run separate from fuel. I was embarrassed, despite the fact that I still picked up the phone and call the fuel company while our fiance paid the HVAC serviceman for her time.
