I have seen a lot of crazy things camping.
I watched a wild boar tear through a camping tent looking for a bag of marshmallows.
I watched a bear destroy a car in the national forest. I even watched a guy base jump from the top of the dome. I’ve seen a guy make an air conditioner out of a cooler and I’ve seen a person make a tent out of a tarp. I’ve never actually seen someone bring an air conditioner to the woods until last weekend. My wife and I took the kids to the city park for the weekend. We arrived early on Friday, because I got done with work early. It was nice to meet all of the rush hour traffic that we would have normally sat through on our way to the park. We were setting up our tent when a guy arrived to set up in the campsite next to us. The guy had a small dog with him. He set up a tent and then I saw that guy bring out pieces of a portable AC unit. The guy set the portable AC unit up in his tent. I’ve never seen anyone actually bring an air conditioner with them to the campground. The AC unit wasn’t very loud. At night, we couldn’t even hear it running. I bet that guy was really comfortable. I’ve often thought it would be nice to have air conditioning inside of the tent, but I never once considered buying a portable air conditioner and setting it up inside of a tent.
