I couldn’t figure out what the weird smell was that was coming from the air vent.
I tried to clean the air vent, but it didn’t help. Every day, the odor was getting stronger, and I was getting upset. I talked to my husband about the odor, but he didn’t spend any time in my yoga studio, so he didn’t notice any change. I called the HVAC company and made an appointment to have a technician come to the house. When the HVAC arrived, he said he couldn’t see anything, but he wanted to know when we had the ductwork cleaned. I couldn’t remember ever having the ductwork cleaned, so I had him made an appointment with the ductwork cleaners. Three days later, I had the ductwork cleaners in the house. They checked for any holes or cracks where bugs could get inside, but that seemed to be fine. After cleaning and sanitizing the ductwork, I was told that should take care of our problem. Two days later, I noticed the odor again. It wasn’t until my husband was outside cutting the grass that we solved the mystery of our odor. My dog was using the air vent to relieve himself when there was no one inside to let him out of the house. The only good thing about that situation was that I was glad it wasn’t winter, where the smell may have been even worse. I was now wondering where we were going to put in a doggie door that leads into the backyard. I’m glad it doesn’t need to be a big door.
