Picking things up where we left off

He ended up apologizing for the way he acted back in the day and asked if he could work for me

I used to have a best friend back in middle school and high school. We always hung out all the time and helped each other with homework. I shared with him that I was going to be an HVAC professional and own my own HVAC business one day. He said that sounded amazing and asked if he could run the HVAC business together with me. We both agreed, but things changed. Towards the end of high school we stopped hanging out. He even said that he was going to do something else other than work in the HVAC industry. I told him I didn’t care, I didn’t need any help running my HVAC company anyway. I went to a trade school and earned my HVAC certification, but I didn’t know what happened to my former best buddy. I was so happy when I finally started up my HVAC company roughly 5 years after I graduated high school. It had been about that long since I last saw my old buddy. I was surprised when one day he came into my HVAC shop. He told me he was impressed with my business and it seemed I was doing well for myself. He ended up apologizing for the way he acted back in the day and asked if he could work for me. When I asked him if he had his HVAC certification, he said he was definitely certified plus experienced. He said he has been working as an HVAC professional probably as long as I have since he got into an HVAC trade school after graduating high school. I couldn’t believe it, and he actually seemed serious about wanting to help me run a successful HVAC business.
