It made sense to do all the house floors.
When our heating plan died I was totally at a loss on what to do. A lady in her early twenties, I had never researched heating equipment before, however my house came with a heater, that was unbelievable enough for me. I thought it would be dumb not to shop around. I couldn’t just blindly accept what the old homeowner chose. The house had an old gas fireplace. It took up a lot of floor space in the kitchen plus didn’t absolutely heat the house that well. When it died, it was unbelievable riddance. I found in our research that there are a lot of heating options out there. I could have a central HVAC equipment with or separate from HVAC duct. I could get a heat pump system. All of these options also provide myself and others the opening to have cooling as well. There are gas, oil plus electric oil furnaces too. Teh oil furnace connects to HVAC duct plus can create the whole house temperature. A boiler plan is super expensive however can last fifty years! You can hook a boiler up to radiators, baseboards or even piping for floor heating. I ended up ripping up our kitchen floors when the fireplace died. It made sense to do all the house floors. Since I was deep in this project, heated flooring was the plan I chose. I now have electric heated mats underneath our floorboards. I have electric heat that doesn’t create noise, cold spots or energy waste. It is a much better opening than that gas fireplace was.
