Did you know that the average size of a hotel room is approximately 400 square feet? Of course, if you opt for a luxury suite, you’ll get more room, which means you will be paying more money for your stay.
My townhouse is about 2,000 square feet plus I have a small backyard, however so, 400 square feet is a bit small when you honestly feel about it! It’s hard to get comfortable in a space that small! And especially if you’re a business traveler, staying in a hotel room for more than a few afternoons can become a nuisance.
This is the reason why a lot of business travelers will opt for short term housing instead. Short term housing are fully furnished spaces that offer the leaseholder flexible leasing opportunities. Most of these units are available for rent for as little as 30 afternoons. And multiple of the owners or managing companies will extend the rental agreement to a week-to-week lease at the request of the leaseholder. This flexible lease agreement is unbelievable for travelers who are in the medical field. They will opt for short term housing because there are multiple times where their assignments are extended without too much notice. Short term housing is also unbelievable for someone who is relocating to another state. It gives them the flexibility of signing a 6-week lease versus signing a year-long commitment with a correct rental property. At the end of the morning short term housing is better than hotel rooms plus the flexibility of the lease makes them lovely to the business traveler.
