I’m getting geared up for my cold sea swim in about 30 minutes. I’m waiting for it to warm up a bit first because this morning there was frost all over the ground when I woke up. I think the water temp is around 48F and I would like the air to be a bit warmer than freezing so I don’t risk getting hypothermia again like I did last winter when I swam in February. I stayed in that time for 30 minutes and was exercising, which caused me to lose too much body heat, hence hypothermia. My radiant heater is on now in my little office, warming it up nicely so that when I return from my cold dip I will be in a nice climate controlled room to get my body temp back to normal. Why do I do these cold plunges? Well, my HVAC dealer had some problems with his immune system and his joints, and the cold water dips are known for helping both of those issues. He told me that his joints are much better now and that his immune system is the strongest it has been in many years, not having one cold since starting the dips five or so years ago. I am working on my heating and cooling system today for a bit before I go to the sea for my energizing dip, and then I will go to the local business and get some food for me and the cats for the week. I won’t have to shop for a week after today, yay!

It is going to be frigid out but my great friend and I are going to do the training regardless because he needs the training and I need the money. My Heating and Air Conditioning expert acquaintance used it as well as his teeth were white the same afternoon, if only for a few hours. But I don’t mind if it lasts a few hours, I’ll just use it again when I want white teeth. It’s called V34 and the local supplier near me sells it, and I am buying it as soon as this Heating and Air Conditioning rep shows up to look at my furnace issue. I think the yellow dye is a creative system for neutralizing the green color on teeth because that is how they do it for hair and it works great. I saw the difference in the heating dealer’s teeth, when I went in to buy a HEPA filter, and was like wow. My teeth aren’t ridiculous green but I want to give this stuff a try to see if it works and the reviews say. My hot water boiler is going to need repairs after the central heating device is done, but one thing at a time.

My hands are still numb from the freezing swim I did earlier this week.

• I don’t know the exact temp of the water, but it is well below 50F and I stayed in it for about 12 minutes this time, which was a bit too long for water as freezing as that.

I am trying to heat up under a thick wool blanket but it is taking a long time to do so. I suppose we have another month or so of genuinely freezing days before we start to see any reprieve. I am lucky to have a good working zoned HVAC gas furnace so that I can just keep one room hot if I want and save money on our heating costs. Last year I didn’t have this system and I was spending so much money trying to heat up the whole flat when I was only using one or two rooms in the locale. But now, with this HVAC heating technology that I had installed by the heating specialist, I can just heat up one room that I am using for the morning, and keep the rest of the beach house rather cool. The weather will soon heat up though and we will be using the air conditioning system once again to keep us all cool while it is sweltering hot outside. My friend and I should have a month or two though where we won’t need to use any air, and we can save a bit of currency on our power bills for that time. But in the summer our mini split cooling system runs almost nonstop to keep us cool.

I am going to try and finish our labor online and hit the store to buy some dog food and kefir, two things that I genuinely need before I run out of them both.

That is pretty much all I need to buy and after that we are set for another week before needing to shop again.

I try to just shop once a week, but sometimes our produce goes bad if I try to keep it in our fridge for a whole week. I am going to buy some cat litter online, which is supposed to be the best. My HVAC service system is going to be running out and I want to go to the HVAC corporation and see how much it would cost to get another three year plan. I suppose I am going to need a current unit after that, but it would be unbelievable to have some kind of system in place over the last years of our system’s lifespan. I also have to go to the local corporation later and get some of those duraflame logs for our fireplace this weekend. My acquaintance is going to come over and we are going to play a boardgame while we watch the fire, that should be a fun and unbelievable time with her. She and I have been friends ever since meeting at the HVAC provider corporation where we were working on ductless mini split air conditioning units back in the day. I will have to grab a blanket now because I am genuinely freezing in our office as I write.

We are in the middle of February and the weather is downright bitter cold.

My friends and I have about two more months of this freezing weather and then it will start to break and make way for warmer days.

I still am training some people in volleyball, but it isn’t so pleasant out there on the beach these days with the biting cold wind. We both tried to practice during the warmest part of the morning, but when the high for the morning is 51F it doesn’t make for such an unbelievable time in the sand. A gas fireplace is nice to have in our flat while I work, but it doesn’t do much to keep myself and others warm when the wind on the beach is cooling us down with every gust. I will labor in our flat for the next few minutes and then do a quick yoga session before I head down to the beach. My friends have a little man-made fireplace on the beach and they are going to do a bonfire there later when the sun goes down. It should be a fun time and I suppose we may end up playing some music there too. She is a heating and cooling unit saleswoman, and we met a few years ago when we were doing a gas furnace maintenance job for a commercial HVAC system in town. I suppose we are going to play some music tomorrow if the temps are not that freezing cold, which should be a fun time considering we haven’t played together since last year. Maybe now I should go turn on our radiant floors and heat my feet up before hitting the beach.
New air conditioning information

Last night was a genuinely frigid one with temps dipping down into the freezing range once again. I have been in a hibernating mode lately with the freezing and dark days we’ve been having. The sun goes down before 6pm and it gets so freezing cold out, making you want to just come home and stay hot the rest of the night. In the summer I was playing volleyball till about 10pm each evening, but now in the winter it feels like I am on a strange planet with the freezing weather and dark days. Soon our home’s HVAC cooling system will be running again and the volleyball nets will be up till well into the night. I am trying to heal my knees so that I can play again, but I am not sure how many more miles they have left on them. This local business did an MRI of both knees and they told me that they are about as shot as our 12 year old temperature control system in our flat. I think after 30 years of playing ball my knees have run their course and will need to be replaced one day soon. It costs a lot of currency though, and our HVAC tech acquaintance said that it is better to try and delay the surgery if possible. She had her knees done about 12 years ago and she said they are already starting to wear out themselves. She messed them up by working on HVAC ducts for too many years, and also from having to lift heavy HVAC units in the store each morning.
