Our son is a little strange when it comes to the way he gets up. You would think that he would use an alarm clock to wake up in the morning, but no, he uses his HVAC system. He has a smart HVAC system with different zones. This allows him to have customized temperature control settings in each room of his house. He has the heating system turn on in the morning when he wants to wake up. He says it wakes him up everytime when it becomes unbearably overheated in the room. Then he gets up and turns the temperature control back to normal settings. Then he gets ready for work and heads out. I asked him if he doesn’t pay for expensive energy bills because of using the HVAC system to get up. I mean, you think his energy bills would be through the ceiling as an HVAC system costs way more to use than an alarm clock. He laughed and said it doesn’t cost him much more at all because his HVAC system is so energy efficient. He said his room is not a large space to heat or cool, and so it’s not challenging for the HVAC system to wake him up when needed. He said that he has tried using regular alarm clocks in the past but they just never wake him up. He said on the other hand when there is so much heating that he feels like he will sweat to death, he has no choice but to get up and now he is never late for work!
