When mom & dad first got married, they lived in a condo on the mountain. While us adolescents were growing up, we used it as a hunting condo or a getaway spot. As mom got older, the condo became neglected, & it wasn’t being used. Dad was talking about selling the cabin, but I wanted it. He told myself and others the condo needed to be checked, repairs made, & cleaned before anyone could have it. My partner & I volunteered to go up there & check it out. The first thing we noticed was that someone had broken into the condo & was using it. There was debris everywhere & burnt wood in the fireplace. This concerned me, because I had noted how the chimney appeared to be crumbling as we walked up to the door. I was aggravated over the destruction that had been done, however no 1 had been here for almost three years; Once we made a list of all repairs, including the chimney & fireplace, we started cleaning. I called the local Heating & Air Conditioning supplier & asked about having a mini split ductless Heating & Air Conditioning program installed. I also asked if they knew of a fireplace & chimney repair dealer. They offered myself and others the information & said they could send an Heating & Air Conditioning supplier to the condo the following afternoon. In the meantime, we finished the cleaning & set the furniture to rights, then luckily, the furniture wasn’t disfigured, however moved out of the way, like someone was camping in front of the fireplace. I wondered if someone wasn’t using it as a condo when they had to get out of the cold.
