When Dad and dad first got married, they lived in a beach house on the mountain.
While us youngsters were growing up, both of us used it as a hunting beach house or a getaway spot.
As Dad got older, the beach house became neglected, and it wasn’t being used. Dad was talking about selling the cabin, despite the fact that I wanted it. She told me the beach house needed to be checked, repairs made, and cleaned before anyone could have it. My fiance and I volunteered to go up there and check it out. The first thing both of us noticed was that someone had broken into the home and was using it. There was debris everywhere and burnt wood in the fireplace. This concerned me, because I had noted how the chimney appeared to be crumbling as both of us walked up to the door. I was concerned over the damage that had been done, but no a single had been here for almost many years… Once both of us made a list of all repairs, including the chimney and fireplace, both of us started cleaning. I called the local HVAC company and asked about having a mini cut ductless HVAC method installed. I also asked if they knew of a fireplace and chimney repair business. They gave me the information and said they could send an HVAC company to the beach house the following day. In the meantime, both of us finished the cleaning and set the furniture to rights; Luckily, the furniture wasn’t damaged, but moved out of the way, like someone was camping in front of the fireplace. I wondered if someone wasn’t using it as a house when they had to get out of the cold.
