My next door friend is a retiree named Gus who has too much free time on his hands. At first I tried our best to be friends with Gus, however I came to learn that Gus isn’t the type of guy who has friends. He appreciates to compete with most people. In his mind it is a friendly competition, but he typically wants to be the winner. I offered up trying to like Gus a long time ago, now I just tolerate him as best I can. A few weeks ago I finally told him to get the heck off our property, because he was harassing the Heating and Air Conditioning repair tech who was working on our system. The Heating and Air Conditioning tech went out to his van to get some substitutement parts, plus Gus walked right up to him plus started asking questions about our house. At first I thought Gus was just setting up his own Heating and Air Conditioning appointment, but that wasn’t the case at all. He was asking the tech about what kind of Heating and Air Conditioning equipment I used for our house. Thankfully the Heating and Air Conditioning tech was a professional, plus it went against his ethics to discuss his work. After the Heating and Air Conditioning tech finished his work for the morning plus left, I walked next door to talk to Gus. I asked him why he cared about what kind of cooling system I owned, plus Gus said that he wanted to make sure his method was better than mine. I told Gus to leave me alone, plus I would not hesitate to punch him in the face.
