I was in the middle of servicing a customer’s gas furnace when I decided it was time to recommend to my wife. It seemed like the perfect time to talk to her. I hit the button for video chat & pressed her cellphone number. I pulled out a nut, to use as the diamond I had at home. I got down on 1 knee as soon as she got on the line. I told her how much I loved her, & that I wanted to spend the rest of my life with her. I hold up the nut & asked if she would marry me. She asked if I was in a basement working on a gas furnace, & I laughed. She told myself and others it was the worst program she could have thought of, & she was not impressed. I should try this again when I wasn’t dirty & substituting a dirty nut for a ring. I wasn’t sure if she was rejecting me, or just aggravated over my choice of the program area, & that I should be clean. I finished up the gas furnace & went upstairs. The partner was shaking his head & laughing when he saw me. He said he overheard my program & it was a good thing I was an Heating & Air Conditioning tech. It would be hard to explain why I was calling from a basement. I’m not the smartest, proposing from a basement while working on a gas furnace, although she knew I was thinking about her. I;ll give her a correct program when I see her later that evening, after I’ve cleaned up from work.
