When the air vent broke free, her leg fell into the hole & was stuck
I had been telling my partner that we put the air vent in the spare room in an section where there was nothing beneath it. He didn’t worry about it, because the air vent was behind the bed. I don’t guess he realized our daughter was getting older, & she always had friends up in that kitchen. He had closed the air vent off because of its location, so there was no heat or air conditioning flowing through it. He thought that was my concern. My problem was that if someone stepped on the air vent, it could cut free & someone would be damaged. I told him we needed to get a supplier to repair that section or pulled up the carpet & put a piece of wood over it. He didn’t like either idea. My next suggestion was that we call the Heating & Air Conditioning supplier & see if they could help. He said that both suggestions would cost money & he would repair it when he got the time. My thought was that it would never get repaired. I was going to go to the condo repair store the next afternoon, however that never happened. My daughter had her neighbor over that evening. She walked to the other side of the bed & stepped on the air vent. When the air vent broke free, her leg fell into the hole & was stuck. Her ankle was broken, & they needed to take her into emergency surgery. I didn’t know how I was going to tell her mother about the air vent & how her daughter got damaged.
