I was unhappy with the way the AC worked

I went to the hardware store looking for a filter for the air purifier and I ended up coming home with a new AC unit. I didn’t plan to buy the AC unit, but it was on the clearance aisle and marked down 50 bucks off the original price. The deal was too good to let go. The item was on clearance, so I could not get a service warranty on the product. I took it home and put it in the garage. I had to secure the AC unit to a wall in the garage with a window and then I used some weather stripping to seal the area around the AC unit. I finished up in the evening and I let the AC unit run all night. I figured it would be super cold when I woke up in the morning and went into the garage. I was wrong, and the system did not turn out to work well at all. I had the temperature set for 68°. The AC unit was still running but there was no cold air coming out of the machine. I tried to troubleshoot the issues as much as I could, but I couldn’t figure out why the machine wasn’t working. I tried to return it to the hardware store, but they would not refund my money because it was a clearance sale item. They advised me to contact the manufacturer of the product. I was extremely aggravated with the hardware company, but they could not break their policy. I did get in touch with the manufacturer who agreed to replace the system with a brand new machine that was under a two-year warranty.
