When I saw the address on the labor order, I was ready to tell them I would not go there; anywhere however there would be great.
One of the other Heating & Air Conditioning techs saw the labor order, & he laughed.
He didn’t know I had it when he nudged myself and others & said he was blissful it wasn’t him. The condo looked like 1 you expected to see Dracula come to the door. The outside was black from the top of the roof to the ground. They even painted the chimney black. The closer I got to the house, I was imagining all the reasons the tenants would need air conditioning. I thought they may need air conditioning to keep the blood fresh, then being a Dracula, he may keep his prey fresh until he could get to them. Then I wondered where he would keep his prey. Maybe they would be kept in the dungeon where it would be cool. What if I had to repair a gas furnace, & it was in the dungeon with the prey? What if I was to become his next prey? When I pulled up to the house, I wasn’t sure if I wanted to get out of the repair van. A young woman came out of the condo & took myself and others inside. She said they needed a complete Heating & Air Conditioning program in the house. About that time, a real Dracula came out of the entryway. My wife shook myself and others awake & told myself and others I had to go to that condo & repair the AC, no matter how giant a coward I was.
