When we arranged to have radiant heated floors installed, I honestly didn’t know what to expect.
- Well, it turned out that there were areas of the house where they had to rip up the floors, but not everything because they were able to access most of the under sections of the floors in the basement area.
It was quite the job that took about a week, but the HVAC crew did great. The reason why we got radiant heated floors in the first place was because of the discount this HVAC company was providing. I was concerned to some degree because I had never worked with any of these HVAC experts before, but they certainly knew what they were doing. I was just happy with the installation of the radiant heated floors after they were installed. When we got into the winter season, those radiant heated floors provided the house with the most comfortable temperatures around. With the heating moving up slowly, it provides even heating with no drafts or anything. Not to mention having your feet on the floor feels wonderful. I used to go around the house wearing slippers, but now I can go with socks or even barefoot. My wife and I have even both chosen to sleep on the floor a few times. I have heard that it helps improve your back sleeping on the floor. It can be somewhat uncomfortable, but the heating from the floors makes it feel wonderful. So long as I’m sleeping on a carpet or something to provide a little bit of padding, I can sleep on the floor every night.
