I wasn’t sure if I should leave our partner house alone when the HVAC serviceman was supposed to be arriving.
I knew most of the HVAC servicemans in the HVAC company both of us used, but there were a few new a singles that I hadn’t yet met.
It isn’t that I didn’t trust our partner, even though she was unusual when new people came to the door. She often hid from them, and if the HVAC serviceman arrived, and she didn’t recognize them, she may head into the bedroom and lock the door. When our partner called me, I knew the worst had happened. I couldn’t find him when I got home. I had him on the phone talking to him, even though she was so hysterical that I couldn’t understand him. I finally found out the HVAC serviceman was not someone she knew. She ran into the basement and was hiding behind the gas furnace. Lucky for him, I had called the HVAC company and taked to the HVAC serviceman. She had repaired the air conditioning unit, and left the bill in the screen door out back. She apologized if she had caused any problems with our partner. I finally found him and told him it was safe to come upstairs. The HVAC serviceman was gone, and she left the bill behind. Bill came out and she was still shaking. She asked me if I saw the size of that HVAC serviceman and said I almost lost our partner to him. Had she not been cheerful being a home fiance, she would have cheerfully followed the HVAC serviceman anywhere.
