How to prepare for the colder season?

Now that the Fall season is upon us, it’s a good time to start getting our homes prepared for the colder months.

And just love in the Spring when you get ready for the Summer, there are particular home maintenance that most homeowners will do.

For instance, while in this time of year, I check all our smoke detectors as well as change out the batteries. When I lived in an current home that had a battery operated thermostat, I used to change the batteries while in the Fall. Currently, I have a typical thermostat that doesn’t require batteries, so there is no need to update anything. But what I do update is our Heating, Ventilation, as well as A/C filter. I make it section of our yearly maintenance checklist to update the filter in the Spring as well as then again in the Fall, but replacing the air filter can improve the performance of the Heating, Ventilation, as well as A/C system. In fact, if the filter is clogged, it can cause the Heating, Ventilation, as well as A/C unit to malfunction or work harder to keep your current home comfortable. In addition to replacing the air filter, I always disinfect out the debris from the outside condenser unit. Removing the debris can improve the airflow of the Heating, Ventilation, as well as A/C unit which will help in its efficiency. Additionally, I disinfect our vents as well as remove any dust or debris that might be present… Performing these simple maintenance jobs on your Heating, Ventilation, as well as A/C proposal can extend the life of the unit. And because I didn’t have our unit inspected this year, the last thing I will do this Fall is to schedule maintenance with our Heating, Ventilation, as well as A/C professional. With all this preparation for the Winter, I expect our Heating, Ventilation, as well as A/C proposal to perform optimally.
