Are space gas furnaces dangerous?

Spring is my favorite season because the weather is so pleasant outside in addition to everything comes back to life after the Winter months.

  • Spring is filled with colors in addition to it’s such a vibrant season, the birds are chirping, the bees are buzzing in addition to the butterflies are fluttering around in the wind.

But one of the main reasons why I appreciate the Spring is that I use less energy during those weeks. My power bill is the lowest because I am not using my central or heating. Therefore, over the years, I look forward to seeing that savings on my utility bill. And although occasionally the weather is a bit frosty outside, I use a space furnace instead of turning on my central heating. Space gas furnaces have such a bad reputation because they are known for causing so numerous beach house fires. In fact, according to research done by the Consumer Product Safety Commission approximately 1,200 fires are caused each year by portable electric space heaters. So, of course this is concerning especially because I use a space furnace as a way to save money on my energy bill. But in defense of space heaters, they come with strict guidelines that should be followed. For instance, you should never leave your space furnace unattended. Meaning if you’re leaving the room or going to sleep you should turn it off. Additionally, you should constantly keep the space furnace in an open space away from furniture or fabric. This could be the difference between life in addition to death. At times, fires are started because of negligence in addition to knowing how to correctly use a space furnace can prevent major issues.
