I am still getting used to the cold weather of the north.
I come from a warm and sunny climate and all of the new things that come with managing my heater have been a bit overwhelming to me.
Where I’m from I am used to the heater and the air conditioner being combined into one unit. Everything lately has been an adjustment, and that includes dealing with all of this new cold weather. So it was not a surprise when I was unprepared when a really nasty snow storm came through that I did not know what to do. I had not done anything for my old oil heater. I had not had it checked over by a heating and air conditioning professional and I don’t even know when the last time I had tune-ups done on it was. The storm was a bad one and it didn’t take much effort for it to completely knock out my heater. I began to get worried when the house started to quickly become cold and I started thinking that I was going to go to a hotel and call for an emergency HVAC repair. It was then that my wife reminded me of our space heater that we had stored in the garage. I was able to get a hold of the space heater and that heater stopped me from freezing by heating up the room until we could have the central heater fixed. If it wasn’t for that space heater I would be paying a very expensive emergency HVAC repair fee.
