My sandwich is on the grill cooking and my cats are on the couch sleeping, so everything is as it should be in the flat with me working as usual.
One day this work thing will all be in the past when I am an old man looking back on my life, and I will probably wish that I could still be working and be needed and useful in this world.
Maybe when you quit working you feel like you are no longer in the game and feeling left out. Could that be possible, to miss working? My HVAC rep doesn’t seem to think so as he counts down his years left till retirement. The only problem with that is he will be 70 years old and pretty much all worn out from so many years of working on HVAC equipment. His knees and back are pretty much worn out and he doesn’t have that much breath when he walks up a few flights of stairs anymore. He talks about traveling in an air conditioned RV but I don’t see him doing that when he is in his 70s with no wife anymore. She passed away a year or two ago and I think it is a pipe dream of his to travel in an RV and be free. This other HVAC tech is talking about the same and maybe they could get together and travel so they aren’t alone on the road. I would like to get an RV too, but I want to do it while I am still young and energetic.
