I know some people swear by the advertisements they see on television.
I have heard that people wouldn’t advertise so wildly if they didn’t have a good business.
On the other hand, I have heard that people who advertise too much, are trying to sell a lesser product. I didn’t know which it was, but it was interesting to watch the HVAC company’s advertising. They made it sound like a career as an HVAC technician was not just gainful employment, but it was fun. If I hadn’t already been considering HVAC as a career, I would be now. I didn’t know who I wanted to work for, because I hadn’t yet started classes. I felt the time to look for an employer was if or when I got my HVAC certification. I was still a month away from taking my first class. When I did finally start classes, I enjoyed the instructor, and he told us he was the owner of one of the local HVAC companies. When he started talking about taking the top HVAC technician in the class as an apprentice in his HVAC company, I vowed I was going to get that apprenticeship. I didn’t know if I was going to fulfill the vow I made to myself, but I had to do the best I could do. I didn’t get the number one position in class, but I was number. Halfway through our HVAC training, our instructor introduced another instructor who was going to take half the class while we did our hands-on training. I came out number one in that class and got an apprenticeship with the new HVAC instructor.
