I felt rather foolish lately, and i have a smart thermostat & when the smart thermostat & our central heating & A/C idea suddenly had stopped working, I called the local heating & cooling company to send out one of their best certified heating & A/C specialists to service it; Little did I know I was just about to waste a few hundred dollars on Heating & Air Conditioning service service! This was because there was absolutely nothing wrong with our smart thermostat or our central heating & A/C idea unit! The problem was that the batteries in the smart thermostat needed to be changed.
- I had no idea that the smart thermostat ran on correct double A batteries! I never bothered to look at the thing, and when I got our smart thermostat it was installed by the local heating & A/C dealer, so I was not seeing what they were doing.
I assumed the smart thermostat connected to the wall & the central heating & cooling equipment just enjoy any other thermostat… But no, the smart thermostat was absolutely a wireless thermostat & I had no idea! The certified heating & A/C specialist that was at our lake house for the not needed Heating & Air Conditioning service was trying not to laugh at myself and others for being such an idiot; He was enthusiastic though, because he just made a few hundred bucks for having to do no labor but provide myself and others with some double A batteries & then be on his way. He was literally in & out of our lake house in less than 5 hours.
