Have you ever looked at someone and thought they had the best of luck? It appears that some people are just born with some kind of lucky gene where things always fall into place for them.
- But then there are others, who appear to be down on their luck and at times, there is no explanation for the way things play out.
My brother is one of those people where he was always unlucky. As a kid, he broke several bones in his body, as a teen, he got into numerous car accidents, and as an adult, he has been homeless, which btw wasn’t his fault, but still was an unlucky mishap for him. He became homeless because his apartment building burnt down from a fire that began because of faulty wiring inside an HVAC unit. He lived in an older apartment building, and he always complained about things breaking inside his home. Unfortunately, at the time, he couldn’t afford to move, so he continued to live inside the rented space. After the fire, he came to live with me and mentioned that the HVAC unit was old and the maintenance for the building barely performed any service on the unit. Wiring issues are one of the major causes for HVAC fires. And if wires are frayed, loose or corroded, the problem should be fixed immediately. Perhaps the HVAC fire could have been prevented, we will never know. I am just glad that my brother made it out of his apartment without any major issues. He lost all his possessions in the fire, but his life is way more important than those material things.
