I don’t know what it was, but my ductwork system kept having issues.

It was always developing leaks and then it was worse when an HVAC expert discovered mold growing inside.

I can’t tell you how many times I had to have the ductwork cleaned and resealed. Then another HVAC worker was talking about replacing a whole section of ductwork which was going to cost me a small fortune. I ended up calling another HVAC company to see what options they could give me. This HVAC expert who came out was actually really nice and had good news for me for a change. Since my HVAC system was very old, around 14 years and was on its way out, he suggested that I go for a ductless HVAC system. I honestly never even knew they had ductless HVAC systems on the market. I had a hard time understanding how that would even work, but the HVAC expert explained it all to me. Basically you’ll have an outdoor condenser unit connected to line sets that hook up to the different indoor units. This system uses refrigerant to spread the heating energy. It’s basically a heat pump so you can push the heating out of the house for a cooling effect, and vice versa. The whole idea of not having to mess with that ancient ductwork made me feel happy, like a huge relief in my mind. I went for this installation and I have been happy ever since. We have had smooth operation of the new ductless HVAC with no issues whatsoever. Of course, we get regular HVAC maintenance as we are on an HVAC service plan.

My best buddy has never been one to exaggerate, so when he told me about his radiant heated floors and how amazing this heating system was, I knew he was telling me the truth.

I never personally looked into radiant heated floors until he started telling me all about it all.

He spoke of the even heating that was second to none and how his energy bills were lower than ever. This sounded welcoming especially since my heating bills have started to go up a great deal with the cost of natural gas heating. The thing is, this particular heating system, according to him, was so energy efficient. He explained it’s because the heating rises slowly which is what causes the even heating throughout the residence. He also was saying how the floors just feel amazing, especially when you walk around in socks. He even told me that he slept on the floor a number of times with his dog and cats. He just told me that if I ever planned to invest in this type of heating system, I should also invest in a good air purification system as well. He said it’s because there is no air filter when you have radiant heated floors, because the heating energy comes from heated water moving through the pipes, and that heating energy is what keeps the home warm through the process of hydronic heating. He said he invested in a UV air purification system which is one of the best air purifiers you can get on the market. I had to visit him at his place to see what the fuss was all about, and he is right, it’s the best heating system!

When I got home the other day, I asked my wife if she could adjust the temperature control settings.

• Instead, she just grabbed her cell phone and started doing something on it.

When I asked her if she was going to adjust the temperature control settings, she told me she already did, but she clearly didn’t go to the thermostat. Then she laughed and said while I was away at work, she got a new wifi thermostat that you can control from your phone. I asked if I could do the same thing with my phone and she showed me where to get the smart app to connect to the wifi thermostat. I couldn’t believe it when I was connected and how simple it was to adjust the temperature control settings. This wifi thermostat also has amazing settings like geofencing. Now I have the thermostat set up so it actually knows when we leave the house. There’s that invisible perimeter that it monitors and we are tracked by our phones, so the thermostat always knows where we are. Even when coming back to the house, as soon as we pass the invisible border, the thermostat knows to go back to our preferred temperature control settings. It’s the most amazing thing ever, and I never thought I would need something so fancy like this, but now I can’t imagine living without our awesome wifi thermostat. I have already told all my buddies and family members about the wifi thermostat. Some of my buddies already had one, but most of my family still thought they didn’t need anything too fancy like a wifi thermostat.

I certainly understand that people want to take shots to try to help keep them safe, but I personally don’t believe that anybody should be forced into it. This is especially true with something that was rushed through, the whole operation warp speed thing. I actually have a lot of friends who died soon after taking those shots, and that really made me pause. I thought at first, maybe it was just a coincidence and they were dealing with health complications. But not my buddy Freddy, he was the healthiest guy I knew and I used to play basketball with him back in high school. Freddy was the one who kept asking me if I would go with him to get our covid shots and I told him no way. Now he is 6 feet under and I mourn all my friends and family I lost in such a short while. Unfortunately, I also lost my job when I still refused to take these shots when they were mandated. Suddenly the company I worked for said it was get the shot or lose your job. Well, I chose to lose my job because I don’t trust that shot and all the boosters for that matter. I even tried searching the adjuvants in those shots, and for some reason, they will not disclose all the ingredients. I ask people how they can get something where they don’t know all the ingredients and the manufacturers won’t disclose them? Not to mention, they are immune to lawsuits if you are injured or killed, so there’s that. These days, I just work from home with the comfort of my own preferred temperature control settings. I love being able to adjust the thermostat as I please and the air quality at home is way better than it ever was at the office.

It is in my opinion that everybody has the right to live comfortably in a reasonably nice home.

This includes not only having a roof over your head, but food on the table and a comfortable climate control system.

I don’t think anybody should be left out in the cold when the temperatures start dropping in the winter, nor should they suffer in the heat of the summer without a proper cooling system. This is why I donate to numerous charities to help support homeless people so that they may have shelter and even get back on their feet so they can get a cozier home to live in. It always breaks my heart to see people begging out on the streets just for scraps of food or a little amount of money so they can put something in their stomach. Well, I was very impressed when my children decided to help a local homeless shelter. They actually went around to different homes in the community so they could come up with money for the local homeless shelter. The biggest issue they learned was that they were struggling to keep their HVAC system maintenance because of lack of funds. Fortunately, our children were able to raise a couple thousand dollars and they were responsible with that money and took it straight to the management of the homeless shelter. Now, thanks to our youngsters, they will have proper heating for the future winter seasons, they just need enough money to continue to maintain the HVAC system so everybody can remain cozy at the homeless shelter.

I’ve always enjoyed the local church that we go to.

• We have been going to this church for over a decade and the people there have become something like family.

Well, it was obvious when the HVAC system started having issues. In the beginning when it was having trouble, it started making some crazy noises during our sacrament meeting, and it was kind of scary to be honest. It sounded like the HVAC equipment was ready to explode. Sadly, they had to shut off the HVAC system via the thermostat and have an HVAC professional check everything out. The HVAC pro ended up telling the bishop that we needed a brand new HVAC altogether. It was a commercial HVAC so it was going to cost a lot. The bishop kept asking the church members every Sunday if they would donate for the HVAC replacement fund. Many people donated, but I didn’t at first because I was too short on money. Well, it’s frowned upon with our religion, but I decided to buy some lotto tickets just to see if I could win a lot of money somehow. I said if I won any money, it would go straight to the church HVAC replacement fund. Well, I was stunned when the first lotto ticket I scratched one a huge winner. I’m talking $5,000 per week for life! Now, I didn’t think I deserved anything that special, but it felt like a blessing. I donated all the money to have the HVAC replaced in a jiffy and suddenly everybody was perfectly cozy. I also paid for them to have a new UV air purification system which I thought would help add to the comfort and help church goers from getting sick.

I was proud of my brother when he started his own auto repair garage.

He has the perfect set up and he keeps the place in good condition too.

He has a few auto mechanics that he hired and they are some of the best. As a matter of fact, they kind of became like family over the years because they are so awesome. My brother often invites me to come out to have drinks with everybody at one of the local bars where the climate control system is amazing. I mean, they have a UV air purification system for superior air quality, and they use HEPA filters which also help get rid of harmful pathogens. It really is the best place to drink, and they have reasonable prices for food and drinks. Speaking of good climate control though, my brother’s garage has a nice ductless mini split in the waiting area that has built in air purification. Whenever I am waiting there, I feel perfectly comfortable. There’s a TV set up and you can easily change the channel to something more of your liking, but I don’t usually mess with the channels if there are a bunch of people there waiting before me. I typically will just play spades on my phone until my car is completely fixed. Recently, my brother took care of the replacement of my AC compressor because my air conditioning was having issues, and it wasn’t just a lack of refrigerant, the AC compressor was definitely faulty. It was so fantastic getting out of there being able to crank my AC system again.

I never even thought about getting a new thermostat until I started looking into energy saving tips.

A buddy of mine was telling me I should do that because I could save a lot of money.

He said he was skeptical too at first, but he learned a few energy saving tips that helped him save big, and it started with him investing in a smart thermostat. I had an old dial thermostat and I never thought to upgrade it because it worked just fine. I was curious about the energy saving tips, so I looked online and found so many. I realized there were things I could do right away, and that was first to do the thermostat upgrade and get energy efficient light bulbs in my home. I didn’t get a smart thermostat that was too pricey, but the one I got is pretty cool. I got a smart app on my phone that allows me to interact with the smart thermostat, it’s so easy to use. Also, this smart thermostat has been saving me a good amount of cash on the energy bills, and I didn’t expect it to be so much in savings. Seriously, that smart thermostat paid for itself within the first year of using it. I know it helps alot with all the energy efficient light bulbs too and I have been doing other things like getting regular HVAC maintenance and using quality air filters. That’s actually a major energy saving tip, regular HVAC maintenance. This is because your HVAC is one of the primary drains of energy in your home, and when you keep it running efficiently, you can save a good amount of cash, which I have seen for myself.

Something that bothered me for a long time was the outrageous cost of my energy bills. Most of the time I would be at work anyway, but I still kept my HVAC at minimal settings so it wasn’t too overheated or frosty when I got back home. I realized that I needed to have a better HVAC at my home that was more energy efficient, but the landlord refused to make such an investment with the HVAC system. Well, if he wasn’t going to do anything about the inefficient HVAC, I decided that I would move when I had the chance. I didn’t only move, I ended up buying a new house that actually came equipped with a really nice HVAC system. This HVAC system wasn’t your typical HVAC either as it had rapid heating and cooling technology. I learned that the ductwork that was installed was much narrower than traditional ductwork and the system was extremely energy efficient. I have been loving this system so much because in the summer, I leave it at minimal settings and my energy bills don’t spike at all. I think it’s because the house has such good insulation as well which helps a lot to keep that cooling energy inside your home. In the winter season, I also keep it at minimal settings when I’m at the office just to keep the pipes from freezing and all. When I get back, I can have the house feeling perfectly cozy in about 5 minutes which is amazing! I guess I should thank my old landlord for giving me the push I needed to go for a place with improved comfort and lower energy costs.

 

I decided to buy a new home as soon as my lease was up

My wife and I bought a brand new heat pump and AC unit last summer. We decided to purchase the service plan that was included for $149. The service plan includes two years of regular HVAC maintenance, lower prices on parts and labor, and fast and friendly service, 24 hours a day and 7 days a week. I scheduled the first tune-up on the HVAC system a couple of weeks ago. The cost of the tune-up was included in the service contract, so I honestly didn’t expect them to perform a long and drawn-out service. I was actually very surprised, because the tune-up checklist included 50 different items. The service technician checked every single part of the heat pump and AC unit. He looked at all of the inside parts as well as the outside parts. He took the cover off the condenser and checked all of the electrical connections to be sure they were fitting tightly. He checked the air filter, air vents, and the condition of our duct work. He checked the evaporator coils and cleaned the condensing drain. The service technician spent at least 45 minutes checking on all of the parts and pieces in our home. By the time the guy was finished, I was impressed. He gave me a sheet of paper that included each step and process that he took to check the machine. It was really detailed and he gave me a couple of notes on the condition of the machine. I’m glad we decided to pay the extra fees for the system tune-ups. I know it will help increase the longevity of the machine.
