So my partner as well as I sure had a surprise almost 18 months ago. That was when we had the air conditioning tune up done early in the Springtime. That’s a wise choice around here given that temperatures in March can get to the upper 69’s during the morning at times. So we’ve consistently tied up the Springtime Heating as well as Air Conditioning service early. But it wasn’t early enough as it turned out. The Heating as well as Air Conditioning professional told us that he had real reservations about whether or not the heat pump would last through the Summer. That was a jolt, but of course, it shouldn’t have been since the heat pump was almost 25 years old, with all that Heating as well as Air Conditioning service, the heat pump was just never a concern as well as we simply didn’t think about replacing it. So we came into last Summer with a lame heat pump because we needed to save more currency to replace it. My good friend and I had to sort of organize a family meeting because we all had to do our part to help get the aged heat pump through one more blazing Summer. That was going to be a tall order as we generally default to more air conditioning than less. My good friend and I genuinely were cruising through June last year when my kid bet me that it would last til September. That was too juicy a bet to resist as well as I took early September. Well, my kid ended up winning the morning on that one as that aged heat pump genuinely lasted until we replaced it in November. That was one bet that I was quite happy to spend my money off.

It’s been a whole new world for me the last 9 or 10 months. Having grown up & lived all of my life way down south, I got my first full bite of winter season this year. And it still has left a bitter taste in my mouth. Just for the record, I hate this sort of Winter, but until just this year, I hadn’t even seen a gas furnace much less used one. But fantastic Lord, I used that gas furnace like it was a lifeline for five months. I moved up here in late October which was gorgeous. The fall was spectacular. That is until it wasn’t. I remember feeling that first frigid wind of late October. From there, it was a blur of heating from the gas furnace & me just trying to put one foot in front of the other. I’m still not quite sure just how I was able to get through that situation. But I did & I’m thankful to now be in the thick of Summer. For sure, I’m not looking forward to another winter season but this kind of Summer is amazing. This is also the first time that I don’t have any air conditioning from a heat pump. The house I bought does have a window air conditioning upstairs. That’s easily kind of nice to have some cooling as it can get kind of stuffy up in the family room. But truthfully, I don’t even leave it on all night. Most nights cool off to the point I have to pull up the comforter to stay warm. That sure didn’t happen where I’m from. I’m going to love every last moment of this perfect Summer weather. That’s because I know that I’m going to get whacked with the frigid again before too much longer.

Isn’t it superb when you can find a solution to a problem that you’ve had for years? Well, my hubby Josh is currently jumping for joy because he finally found the best solution to keep the garage cool, and a few years ago, he turned our garage into a gym, and he has been trying to find ways to keep the space comfortable, especially while in the warmer months, but my fantastic friend and I live in the southern part of the country, so you can only imagine how brutally hot our weather is… During the Summer, the hot and cold temperatures entirely hot up into the 90s on a yearly basis.

And if you’ve ever tried to work out in 90-degree weather, it’s not the most comfortable situation to be in, but so, over the years, he tried using fans as well as a portable evaporative cooler, but those gave no real relief for the heat, however last year, he finally spent the extra currency and obtained a portable a/c, and while it was better than the fan and the air cooler, it still wasn’t enough for the hot garage; Finally, after he had a conversation with one of his friends, he decided to invest in a ductless mini split a/c! That was a game-changer for him… Not only does the ductless mini split a/c supply cooling, but it also produces heat.

This means that he could use his gym comfortably all year long, i was impressed by how easy it was to install the ductless mini split a/c. In fact, all it took were easy tools and something to drill a hole, josh was able to install the unit in just under 2 hours; Ever since, he’s been so gleeful about using his gym all year long.

My sister consistently makes fun of me because she says I purchase random items that are useless.

For instance, when I bought the robot vacuum cleaner, she thought I was being ridiculous.

She didn’t understand why I couldn’t just sweep my own apartment even after I explained that the vacuum can reach certain sites in my property that I don’t consistently clean. Personally, I enjoy the robot vacuum cleaner plus it’s one of the best gadgets in my home. Aside from the robot vacuum cleaner, she thought that my portable a/c was a useless purchase, that was until it became our saving grace plus provided a comfortable night of rest. Last month, my great friend and I had a women’ trip weekend with a few of our childhood friends. And my great friend and I rented a household in the woods that overlooked a serene lake. The household had weather conditions control, but when my great friend and I got there, my great friend and I noticed that it was a bit warm inside. After being inside the household for a few hours, my great friend and I realized that the thermostat was at 77 degrees plus hadn’t cooled down the cabin. As luck would have it, I had my portable a/c in the trunk of my car. I had bought it a few mornings before the trip, plus I forgot that it was in my car. I noticed it when I was packing for the trip plus for some reason, I decided just to leave it there. Perhaps my guardian angels were protecting me because my great friend and I were able to use the portable a/c when my great friend and I realized the cooling system in the household wasn’t working respectfully. All in all, the portable a/c became our saving grace, plus I even got my sister to confess that it was a great purchase.

As fortune would have it, I had my portable air conditioner in the trunk of my car. I had bought it a few days before the trip, & I forgot that it was in my car. I noticed it when I was packing for the trip & for some reason, I decided just to leave it there. Perhaps my guardian angels were protecting me because my buddy and I were able to use the portable air conditioner when my buddy and I realized the a/c in the apartment wasn’t working properly. All in all, the portable air conditioner became our saving grace, & I even got my sibling to disclose that it was a fantastic purchase.

My partner and I started saving to replace the heating and cooling equipment about 2 years ago.

It turned out to be just about perfect timing.

My fine friend and I are headed into the Summer with a modern heat pump and it seems like a whole modern world; For sure, my pal and I were quite glad with our aged A/C. Where my pal and I live, my pal and I only need a heat pump for both heating and cooling. Actually, there isn’t all that much heating to the winter time months. So the whole focus is on the A/C… Last Summer, my pal and I started to notice that our Heating, Ventilation and A/C costs began spiking in July. And by October, the heat pump was running all the time to keep up with even minimal demand. My fine friend and I lucked out and got through the heat season before my pal and I had the modern residential Heating, Ventilation and A/C installed. So this Summer, my pal and I have been in for a treat so far. It’s hard to really move just how stunned we’ve been with the evolution of Heating, Ventilation and A/C technology. From the zone controlled Heating, Ventilation and A/C to the smart thermostat, it’s a whole modern game. Plus, the heat pump is now so supremely efficient that my pal and I are experiencing the lowest energy bills. My fine friend and I knew it would be better with the latest in residential Heating, Ventilation and A/C however my pal and I had no idea to what degree. I cherish the fact that I can customize the zone controlled Heating, Ventilation and A/C so we’re not overcooling parts of the home that are empty or used less. Plus, my pal and I had a ductless heat pump installed in the sunroom as well. So my pal and I can now appreciate A/C out there as well. Before my pal and I had the ductless heat pump installed, the sunroom was pretty much off limits except early in the afternoon. This Summer is going to be chock full of total A/C comfort.

It’s so strenuous saying goodbye to your parents.

Almost all of us have to deal with that scenario in one way or the other sometime in our lifetime… My brother & I lost our dad two years ago & it’s still strenuous to even know about him, but I know he would approve of having air conditioning in the lodge he left to us! This was his spot for sure, but he was raised in a different era where hunting very put meat on the table & in the freezer.

The fact that his hunting lodge was on land owned by the family for generations made it all the better. My brother & I could hardly bring ourselves to visit the lodge much less start renovations that ended up including Heating, Ventilation & A/C equipment. This was the place where my brother & I learned an exhausting lot about being grown men. There was something about how easy dad was when my associate and I were roughing it at the lodge, it was all just so easy out there. These afternoons, I now understand why he would shed the commercial Heating, Ventilation & A/C of the office for long weekends of solitude at the lodge. After my associate and I made a few visits just us, my brother & I decided that my associate and I wanted to make the lodge family friendly. Times had changed as my associate and I both prefer our wives & want them with us, plus, my associate and I both only have daughters, and so adding satellite wi-fi & a couple of ductless heat pumps for the Summer made sense. My associate and I even spruced up the place with some new furnishings as well, but yea, I know dad would appreciate hanging out here with his granddaughters.
