I was able to prove my skills to my boss and it paid off big time

Then she said she was going to hire me as an HVAC contractor and she provided me with the terms of the contract and how much I would be paid for my services.

When there was a problem with the HVAC in the office, I told the boss that I could fix it. She was skeptical at first but I told her that I was raised working on HVAC systems with my father and uncles. So she let me work on it with my tools and I only had to replace a few parts and get everything cleaned out thoroughly. The HVAC system was running like new again and she was impressed. After that, I worked on the ductless mini split she had working in her personal office and I got it to work better after I provided it with a tune-up and a good cleaning. Before I knew it, she was telling me that I was fired. It didn’t make sense to me at first because she acted like this was good news. Then she said she was going to hire me as an HVAC contractor and she provided me with the terms of the contract and how much I would be paid for my services. I thought the money was very generous and she told me after she saw the work I could do, she looked forward to working with me like this. I was suddenly making three times more than what I was making just working at the office building. I already knew the place inside and out and the boss had a great deal of respect for me. It’s very strange to me because I never went to get HVAC certified, but I guess that doesn’t matter if you can prove the skills you have.
